Vietnam adds another city to Network of Learning Cities

Hanoi, Sep 4 (Prensa Latina) Vietnam recently incorporated the city of Cao Lanh, capital of the Dong Thap province, into the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities.

The province of Hai Duong was the first of the Vietnamese territories to join the Network back in 2015, which was later joined by Ho Chi Minh City, the same year, and Sa Dec, in Dong Thap, and Vinh, in Nghe An, both in 2020, reported the radio station The Voice of Vietnam.

Established in 2012 by the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning, the mechanism has made remarkable progress in promoting equal educational opportunities for all, from beginners to university, as well as in promoting teaching in the home, the community and in the workplace.

It is also intended to expand the use of modern education technologies, improve quality and inclusion, and promote a culture of lifelong learning.
