About 60 members of a Ukrainian army sabotage group, divided into two groups, landed on the shore of a reservoir located 3 km northeast of the nuclear power plant.
The Ministry reported that “a series of measures” were used to eliminate the group, including, and not limited to, the use of aviation.
Two of the members of the landing party were captured in addition to a solid arsenal: foreign-made weapons, grenades, improvised explosive devices, maps of Energodar and satellite positioning systems.
According to security officials, the saboteurs had information about the design features of the ZNPP and aimed to attack its most unprotected place.
In addition, from the early hours of this Thursday, the Ukrainian artillery attacked the city of Energodar from the northern bank of the Dnieper River, despite knowing about the possible arrival of the IAEA mission.
