The Conference launched a declaration demanding the integrity of the rights and goals of state employees, as well as perseverance and struggle until the satisfaction of their demands and the rectification of imbalances.

At another point in the declaration, the conference unanimously agreed to refuse to link the customs dollar that the government insists on adopting with other taxes and fees, included in the budget proposal.

They called for lifting bank secrecy from all employees of public administrations and institutions and all those who received money from state funds, under any name, while holding the corrupt accountable.

At the invitation of the Civil Service Employees Association in the Beirut Engineers Union, the Conference involved representatives from the International Labor Organization, federations, associations, and educational and social labor groups from across the country.

The high cost of basic necessities, fuel and medicine as a result of the worsening of the economic and financial crisis has driven state employees to go on indefinite strikes since last June.
