Israel launched air strikes against two Syrian airports

Ataque
Damascus, Sep 1 (Prensa Latina) The Israeli armed forces launched two missile strikes against the civilian internatioinal airports of Damascus and Aleppo, media reported.

At around 8:00 p.m. local time, Israel launched missiles at the Aleppo International Airport, causing material damage to the facility, the Syrian Defense Ministry said.

An hour later, missiles were launched from the north of occupied Palestine, impacting areas near the Damascus International Airport, also causing material losses.

Well-informed sources quoted by local media reported that the first attack sought to prevent an Iranian plane from landing at the Aleppo airport and as the plane changed course for Damascus, Israel bombed positions near the capital’s airport.

Israel has conducted 23 attacks against Syria this year, some against civilian infrastructure facilities such as the Messiaf scientific research center, the Damascus International Airport and the commercial port of Latakia.

Syria urged the Security Council of the United Nations Organization to issue a public condemnation of Israel’s constant attacks and assured that these aggressions directly threaten regional and international peace and security.

It emphasized that these actions by Tel Aviv open the door wide for more tension, escalation and chaos in the region.
