Authorities stated that the disaster occurred at a village in Huzhu Tu County early Thursday, 11 individuals were trapped at first, and only four survived after being rescued from the debris.

The search for the two unaccounted-for residents is still ongoing and the local Government has activated a contingency response mechanism.

In August, Qinghai reported flash floods in Datong county, where about 30 people were killed, 1,517 houses were damaged, and much of the public infrastructure was devastated.

Those flash floods occurred at daybreak on August 18 and were more destructive because the ground was supersaturated, and along with the water, a large amount of mud, rocks, and stones moved down from the mountains.
