Cuban Deputy Minister of Agriculture (MINAG) Maury Hechavarria thanked Türkiye for a donation of machinery and materials to plant chickpeas.
For her part, Deputy Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment Minister Ana Teresita Gonzalez, highlighted the existing friendship between the two nations, and the will to continue strengthening mutual cooperation.
Türkiye’s Ambassador to Cuba, Vehbi Esgel Etensel, and Fatih Abdi Cetin, the director of the Turkish Agency for Cooperation and Coordination (TIKA) in Mexico, the institution that made the donation possible, participated in the meeting.
MINAG specialists underlined the usefulness of the modern technology offered to Cuba, and mentioned a Mahindra tractor (model 9500), an agricultural cutter, a Famaq pneumatic precision seeder (model SN-40) and irrigation systems for one hectare.
TIKA is a cooperation mechanism for State institutions and organizations, universities, non-profit organizations and the private sector, and functions as a platform for Türkiye’s development aid.
