MINAG authorities praised how useful the modern technology will be for Cuba, where chickpea production is major goal longed for by many farmers.
To raise chickpea output levels in Cuba, work has been underway since 2018 on an international collaboration project with Türkiye, sowing 10 varieties with good results, resistance to diseases, high humidity and acceptable average yields.
Such an experience is being extended to the eastern provinces of Holguin and Las Tunas, based on what was recently completed in the 2020-2021 planting campaign, which allowed to sow about 8.5 hectares of best chickpea varieties.
