At a press conference in this capital, the also Hero of the Republic of Cuba, highlighted the importance of the CDRs and their vigilance work, “when the counterrevolution makes constant calls to carry out sabotage in the communities,” he indicated.
“We as CDR have a very important role in terms of surveillance and protection of our neighborhoods, communities, of our citizen tranquility in general,” he said.
He stressed that during the Covid-19 pandemic, the relevance of the organization was increased, since the CDR members helped identify vulnerable people, organize vaccination processes and established aid systems.
Hernández explained that the largest mass organization in the country had an active participation in the consultation process of the new Family Code and for the next popular referendum they plan to carry out actions aimed at protecting and updating the lists of voters, as well as promoting citizen participation.
“The call to our CDR community is to go out and vote that day, for a code that does not compel anyone to have a certain type of family, even though that is what the enemies of the Revolution proclaim,” he pointed out.
According to the national ideological secretary of the CDR, Yanelys Tablada, for the celebration of the 62nd anniversary, photography and painting contests and mini-festivals of raw materials will be held with the aim of contributing to the country’s economy and the culture of recycling.
In addition, 46 Neighborhood Awards will be given in recognition of citizens, families, schools that have had an outstanding participation in CDR tasks.
The VI plenary session of the CDR national leadership will also take place, where they will evaluate the work of the organization, as well as the challenges for future stages.
Likewise, there will be an artistic tour, they will promote actions to encourage the rational use of energy and they will celebrate popular activities in salute to the founding date, on September 28, 1960.
