Cuba and Angola discuss economic and cooperation ties

Luanda, Aug 30 (Prensa Latina) Representatives of the governments of Angola and Cuba discussed bilateral relations in the economic and cooperation fields here today, confirmed the Foreign Ministry of the Caribbean nation.

The co-presidents of the Cuba-Angola Intergovernmental Commission, Ricardo Cabrisas, Vice President of the Council of Ministers, and the Minister of State and Head of the Civil House of the Presidency of Angola, Adão Francisco Correia de Almeida, held a “productive work meeting”, the source said.

According to the island’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Minrex), the meeting “allowed a review of the economic and cooperation relations between the two countries, as well as agreeing on the work schedule prior to the XV Session of the Intergovernmental Commission scheduled for the last quarter of 2022 in Luanda”.

The Secretaries of State of the Foreign Relations and Health portfolios, Domingo Custódio Vieira and Leonardo Europeo Inocencio, respectively, among other officials, participated on the host side, the agency reported through its digital portal. On the other hand, the ambassador, Esther Armenteros, the deputy director general of Bilateral Affairs of the Minrex, Angel Villa, and the executive president of Antex S.A., Carlos Martínez, attended.

The head of the press and culture office of the Cuban legation in Angola, counselor Raúl González, informed Prensa Latina that Cabrisas and the accompanying delegation were also present today in the Special Economic Zone (ZEE) of Luanda-Bengo.

The director of America of the Angolan Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Filisberto Martins, participated in the visit, during which the delegation received information on investments and perspectives of the ZEE.
