According to the government press office, the meeting took place at the Olivos Residence and was attended by the company’s president, Chen Xiaojia; the deputy head Piao Bo and the director of the Latin America Division, Tong Tianbing, among other officials.
Shortly after, the president met with authorities from the International Exhibitions Office, with whom he discussed the process for the designation of the city of San Carlos de Bariloche as the venue for the 2027 International Specialized Exhibition.
The meeting, held at the Casa Rosada, was attended by the Chief of Staff, Juan Manzur; the ambassador of the Executive Council of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco), Marcela Losardo; the mayor of Bariloche, Gustavo Genusso; and the director of International Organizations of the Foreign Ministry, Gerardo Díaz.
The member of the Expo 2027 Executive Committee Dana Borojovich and the advisors Javier Grosman and Miguel Ángel Cuberos also participated.
San Carlos de Bariloche competes with Malaga (Spain), Minnesota (United States), Phuket (Thailand) and Belgrade (Serbia), and the final decision will be made in June 2023.
