The agency’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) stood in the second quarter of 2022 at 1.5 percent above the level reached in the fourth quarter of 2019, the last full quarter before the Covid-19 pandemic, The OECD said in a statement.
The largest expansion corresponded to the Netherlands with 2.6 percent ahead of Israel, Sweden and Spain, while the lowest data belonged to Poland which decreased 2.3 percentage points.
Among the OECD countries, Canada stands out, with optimal levels, while in France and Italy it was one percentage point and Germany managed to match the level of activity after Covid-19, the agency said.
For their part, members of the G20 registered a rise of 0.2 percent, after the stagnation observed from January to March, although the United Kingdom and the United States showed a contraction of 0.1 percent.
In the case of the U.S., it is the second consecutive quarterly fall, after that registered in the previous period.
In the G7 countries – the most developed economies – GDP stood 1.6 percent above the level recorded in the fourth quarter of 2019, while its member countries exceeded pre-pandemic levels of activity.
