The proposal also resulted in a record and video of the same name, released on digital platforms in April 2021 and with emblematic and unpublished songs by singer-songwriter Teresita Fernandez, a repertoire dedicated to the homeland, nature, and love.
The initiative in tribute to the famous artist, storyteller, and teacher includes songs such as “Vinagrito,” “Tia Jutia,” “Dame la mano,” and “Tin Tin la lluvia,” and recalls Los Yoyos, a musical puppet project, which was very popular in Cuba during the 1970s and 1980s.
The idea for this new version, directed by Jhoan Baez and produced by Rita Elens Deliz, emerged in late 2016 and after five months of research and consulting, more current puppets were added, with renewed concepts and sonorities, but without losing the essence of the original show. jg/iff/jcm/dgh
