According to MINREX, the virtual talks, regarded as professional and profitable, involved Cuban experts working on the accident area at the Matanzas Supertanker Base, and U.S. specialists from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Both sides discussed possible avenues of cooperation for restoring most affected areas.
The Cuban delegation, made up of specialists from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA), informed their American counterpart on the actions taken for their assessment.
They also discussed the feasibility of accessing latest techniques and procedings from EPA, oil companies and other agencies deeply involved in these kinds of disasters.
