Speaking via videoconference at the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, based in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Marrero stressed that cooperation in the fields of health and biotechnology is progressing at a good pace through the promotion of the use of Cuban medicines, recognized by some member States of the Union.
In that sense, the Cuban leader highlighted the Caribbean nation’s participation as an observer in the Pharmacopoeia Committee of the Eurasian Economic Council, a favorable platform for the mutual exchange of points of view on issues related to health and related technical standards.
He also highlighted the progress of exchanges between representatives of the Mariel Special Development Zone and the Eurasian Economic Commission, to learn about the experience of each of the parties in anticipation of establishing a joint trade relationship.
About this issue, he highlighted the interest of four countries of the bloc in creating an EAEU Industrial Park in the Caribbean nation.
The prime minister stressed that the Cuban authorities are aware of the need to accelerate the implementation of projects in the agricultural sector related to the production and marketing of cow’s milk and chicken meat.
In that line, he added that Havana presented to the partners designated by the Eurasian Economic Commission as a proposal two projects on the priority objectives of the Cuban economy.
Marrero took advantage of the meeting to invite once again the member States of the Council to participate in the 38th Havana International Fair (FIHAV 2022), to be held from November 14 to 18 of this year.
