According to information released by the academic institution, the University Council will grant this distinction to emblematic figures such as Judith Butler, Manuel Castells Oliván, Joanne Chory, Ingrid Daubechies and María Rosario Dosal.
The list of those recognized for exceptional merit within activism, social sciences, biology, mathematics and exponents of design also includes María Ángeles Durán, Javier Garciadiego, Rafael López, Angelina Muñiz, Lourival Possani and Ricardo Rivero.
The center of higher studies also said that the award rewards “the development and enhancement of science, humanities, art, pedagogy, letters and culture,” including academics from this educational institution.
The formative scenario distinguished Guillermo del Toro as one of the most creative and visionary artists of his generation, famous worldwide for films such as The Shape of Water, The Alley of Lost Souls and Chronos, deserving twenty awards.
Similarly, he received an Oscar nomination in the category of best screenplay for the film Pan’s Labyrinth, released in 2006 and with a cast of artists such as: Ivana Baquero, Doug Jones, Sergi López, Ariadna Gil, Maribel Verdú and Alfonso Cuaron.
