Masi, a legislator of the Democratic Progressive Party, considered the arrival of the U.S. Undersecretary of State for the Southern Cone and the Western Hemisphere Mark Wells as normal, but criticized his involvement in investigations.
Masi reiterated her usual rejection of the U.S. authorities presence in oral and public trials in Paraguay, “as happened in the case of the deceased legislator Óscar González Daher”, reported ABC Color.
“I have always criticized the presence of US sheriffs because it turns out to be that without them judges and prosecutors apparently do not dare to take the corresponding sentences. What a shame for Paraguay!”.
