The agency issued a statement broadcasted by the RT chain that the perpetrator wanted to “commit acts of sabotage and terrorism against targets of the Russian Baltic Fleet Navy and military personnel, as well as against the Khrabrovo airport” located in Kaliningrad.

During the operation, the agents seized an improvised explosive device equivalent to five kilograms of TNT in destructive power, propaganda literature and symbols of the organization, banned in Russia.

“The detainee has already made statements (…). A criminal file was opened and the investigation was launched into the crimes specified in the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, such as the preparation of the terrorist act and the illegal manufacture of weapons,” the Security Service stated.

The agency explained that this is included among the events prevented in recent months, intending to create chaos and insecurity in Russia by orders of Ukrainian organizations.
