Cuban deputy prime minister has busy working agenda in Venezuela

Alejandro-Gil-2
Caracas, Aug 24 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Planning Alejandro Gil on Wednesday kicked off a visit to Venezuela, as part of meetings to strengthen relations.

The Cuban official arrived in Caracas on Tuesday and was welcomed at the Simon Bolivar International Airport in Maiquetia by Venezuelan Deputy Foreign Minister Raul Li Causi.

Gil heads a delegation that will hold working meetings as part of mutual cooperation between the two nations, which covers sectors such as health care, education, sports, agricultural production and culture.

Cuba and Venezuela have close relations at the highest political level and extensive ties in other areas, based on the Comprehensive Collaboration Agreement initiated by the revolutionary leaders Fidel Castro (1926-2016) and Hugo Chavez (1954-2013) on October 30, 2000.

As part of this alliance, several collaboration projects have been signed to date, with emphasis on healthcare services, drug supplies, advice and preparation of human resources in educational, sports, cultural and productive programs.
