The vice president of the organization, Manuel Pascual, commented during an interview with Prensa Latina that they foresee the stay in France of the plastic artist Santiago Hermes Martínez, who already participated in 2019 in a similar initiative in the Vitry-sur-Seine commune of the province of Paris, for one to two months.
Pascual recalled that a mural dedicated to Cuba’s national hero José Martí was inaugurated in Vitry-sur-Seine, on the facade of the Irene Joliot-Curie public primary school, in September 2019.
“I was inspired by the fact that in Cuba the figure of Martí is present in every school, and I would like the children to get closer to him and learn about his legacy, it would be a pleasure for me,” the artist told Prensa Latina.
Since 1995, CubaCoop has promoted initiatives for the socioeconomic development of Cuba, both locally and nationally.
Culture is one of the areas of work of the association, which in addition to supporting the province of Cienfuegos, worked together with the late Eusebio Leal on the Victor Hugo House project, inaugurated on March 13th, 2005.
