The patient, who arrived last August 15, rapidly evolved towards critical condition and on the 18th was already in unstable situation. He died on Sunday afternoon.
According to a Minsap report, the necropsy report showed as cause of death a sepsis due to bronchopneumonia caused by an unspecified germ and multiple organ damage. During the studies carried out to determine the causes that led to the evolution of his serious condition, other pathologies of infectious etiology were ruled out.
The contacts of the deceased are being kept isolated, as part of the protocol foreseen in this country for the control of the disease. So far, they are asymptomatic.
The 50-year-old Italian patient, upon his arrival in the country, stayed in a rented house and visited several places in the western provinces of the country. On August 17, he presented general symptoms and went to the health services on August 18 due to their persistence.
