presidente-Maduro
Caracas, Aug 17 (Prensa Latina) President Nicolas Maduro has instructed the authorities of the Venezuelan Oil Ministry to make the corresponding arrangements to help Cuba rebuild the supertanker terminal of Matanzas, which was seriously damaged by a fierce fire.

During the ceremony of decoration of firefighters and experts of the state-owned oil company Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) who helped put out the huge fire that raged for five days killing 16 and wounding 130, Maduro ratified Venezuela’s solidarity with the government and people of the island.

“Cuba knows that it can count on our scientific, technical, engineering and workers’ support; (…) get in touch with the Cuban oil and energy authorities to start the design of the reconstruction of the supertanker base in Matanzas”, said the Venezuelan president.

He also stressed that under no circumstances will the Caribbean country be alone, and it will always count on “the support of the peoples of the world and of sensitive, courageous and humanist governments”, he asserted.

From the hands of President Nicolas Maduro, 43 firefighters and experts from PDVSA received the replica of the victorious saber of Carabobo and the Order Francisco de Miranda in its Second Class, for the solidarity shown during extinguishing the fire together with Mexican and Cuban firefighters.

Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel, had praised on Monday the solidarity and brotherhood of Venezuela and Mexico towards the island, for their prompt response to fight the fire that destroyed four huge storage tanks.

From his Twitter account, the Head of State stressed that “we will never forget the heroism and brotherhood of the Mexicans and Venezuelans who came to help us fight the fire”.
