Mamani tweeted that he met today with Luis Felipe López-Calva to debate on issues closely related to domestic economic reactivation with import substitution as well as other goals embodied in the PDES 2021-2025.
On Monday, López-Calva began a work agenda by meeting with government authorities, development partners, representatives of private sector and civil society organizations, according to the Foreign Ministry.
In statements to the press, López-Calva said his travel´s objective is to “boost sustainable development and living well in Bolivia”.
Referring to talks with Mamani, López-Calva informed that both officials analyzed opportunities for the implementation of the Ibero-American Action Plan, and also reaffirmed UNDP´s commitment with indigenous peoples.
Regarding indigenous communities in Latin America, López-Calva regarded them as “core actors of sustainable development”.
According to official sources, López-Calva´s visit to Bolivia will help strengthen UNDP´s strategic support for the Andean-Amazonian country by focusing mainly on development planning, establishment of effective governance, as well as the strengthening of intercultural democracy.
