The Emergencies Ministry reported on Sunday that a detonation of pyrotechnic devices caused a large fire in a shopping center in southern Yerevan, causing six dead and 61 injured, according to the latest data.
Faced with this situation, the Security institution of the country made a call via its website to use data and official information so as not to generate panic among the population.
It also added that service personnel “completely control the security situation.”
For his part, the Armenian Emergencies Minister, Armen Pambujchian, stated that 16 people are still missing, and explained that the debris removal operation, involving some 70 professional rescuers and volunteers, lasted all night and is still ongoing.
