Organizers of the event assured Prensa Latina that the objective is to develop an inclusive process of exchange of opinions to prepare the agenda of the meeting scheduled for November 18-20 and its final declaration, in which they will reflect on issues such as the rejection of the US blockade against the island.
In view of the face-to-face return of the ECRE, after limitations imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic, the third videoconference preparation contact was held this week, with the participation of Cubans residing in Germany, Austria, Denmark, Spain, France, Italy, Norway, Poland and the United Kingdom, among other countries.
In one of the interventions, José Conde proposed a preliminary program, with Friday the 18th as a day of registration and visits to parliamentarians and personalities to explain the reality of the Antillean nation, and with Saturday the 19th destined for debates in commissions.
Sunday the 20th would be reserved for the approval of the final declaration of the Berlin ECRE-2022 and a mobilization of support for Cuba, commented the resident in Germany.
Conde also shared the idea of working on the meeting in four commissions, focused on the work structure and coordination between the associations; social networks and communication; the condemnation of the US blockade, and nation and emigration, the latter a space to address concerns such as those related to the passport and the strengthening of ties with Cuban institutions.
From the United Kingdom, Miriam Palacios advocated strengthening the work in the European Parliament of Cubans who love their country and support the revolutionary process.
We must reach the Eurochamber with our criteria, where they listen to people who misrepresent the reality of what is happening in Cuba. We are numerous and we must demand there the end of the US blockade and the removal of the island from the list of countries that sponsor terrorism, she said, in an issue addressed by other participants.
From France, Danilo Campos called to act on the offensive in defense of the homeland and to coordinate actions and activities between the various organizations.
