Cuban leader Fidel Castro’s imprint celebrated in Venezuela

Caracas, Aug 13 (Prensa Latina) Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on Saturday celebrated the imprint of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro (1926-2016), on the occasion of his 96th birthday.

“We celebrate together with our Cuban brothers, the 96th birthday of the Leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz. His vision of Socialism continues to illuminate the path of the peoples who fight for dignity, respect and sovereignty. Long live Fidel for always!” the president wrote on his Twitter account.

Fidel, as the Cuban revolutionary is affectionately called in various parts of the world, is one of the most relevant political figures of the 20th and early 21st centuries, with intense work in favor of the emancipation of peoples and the defense of their sovereignty and cultural values.

On Fidel’s birthday, a photo exhibition made up of 22 images that show significant moments in the life of the leader of the Cuban Revolution was inaugurated at the headquarters of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry on Friday.

Deputy Foreign Minister Carlos Ron highlighted the inspiring character of Fidel’s life and work, in particular his fight against imperialism, care for the environment, and in favor of the integration of peoples.

For his part, the Cuban Ambassador Dagoberto Rodriguez pointed out that the example of the revolutionary commander guides millions of people around the world.

The opening of the exhibition was attended by diplomatic representatives of Nicaragua, Vietnam, Palestine, China, staff of the Embassy of the Russian Federation and the Foreign Ministry.
