“The critical infrastructure of the nuclear power plant was not damaged only thanks to the skillful, competent and effective actions by Russian soldiers,” Vladimir Rogov, representative of the Zaporizhzhia regional government, told the Russia 24 television channel.
On Thursday, the Ukrainian Army again shelled with heavy artillery the atomic plant, which has been protected by Russian soldiers since March.
In that regard, Rogov stated that the antiaircraft defense repelled five attacks on the plant and five more against a fire station near the site; however, he explained that the reactors are still working.
According to Rogov, the actions were taken using multiple rocket launcher systems and heavy artillery from the territory of Nikopol, Marganets and Tomakovka, in Dnepropetrovsk province.
Last week, authorities from the town of Energodar, where the power plant is located, reported several attacks on the facility and attributed them to Ukrainian forces.
