Both countries had a permanent communication, which facilitated coordination actions to douse the fire, the Mexican diplomat told Television Cubana.
Díaz pointed out that from the right moment the accident was known, the Mexican embassy informed President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and his ministries to give a speedy response to aid Cuba.
Planes leaving Mexico were loaded with materials we thought to be first needed, given Mexico’s experience in disaster like this one, the ambassador added.
He also stated that about twenty planes, helicopters and three boats have so far arrived in Cuba with material and human aid.
