Elizabeth Garcia, director of the Havanatur T&T Oriente Norte Branch, noted that this operation is part of an initiative by CUBAMAX agency to bring Cuban families closer by reestablishing direct flights to Cuban provinces.
Garcia pointed out that this is the fourth of five flights scheduled under the “Shoring Distance” campaign, through which nearly 700 tickets were raffled in the US to Varadero, Santa Clara, Camagüey, Holguin and Santiago de Cuba.
This way, 97 passengers arrived in this eastern Cuban city on an AEROCUBA charter, which has two weekly frequencies, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, to Holguin’s airport.
The executive stated that the fifth and last operation of this kind will arrive at the Santiago de Cuba airport on August 16.
