In statements to Prensa Latina, Perez said that the current challenges are focused on the defense of educational public policies for the student’s movements of the continent.
In this sense, he stated that the aim is to achieve free and quality education, which should be a premise by many countries’ governments. In his message of congratulation, Perez wished OCLAE a long life and urged that future generations “transform the social reality in each of their nations and that spirit of rebellion may not be lost.
He said that they are currently focusing forces for peace in Colombia, the independence of Puerto Rico, the elimination of the US blockade against Cuba and the struggle for the Saharawi cause and the Palestinian people, as well as for equality, care for the environment and inclusion.
The 19th OCLAE Congress will be held in Venezuela from November 16 to 22 and it will be dedicated to Ernesto Che Guevara and the 100th anniversary of the Cuban Federation of University Students (FEU), which has presided over the continental organization since 1966.
