During the meeting at the president’s residence, Niinistö was interested in what is happening in the industrial zone of Matanzas, hit by a fire since last Friday, and highlighted the achievements made by Cuba in the field of biotechnology, during the fight the Covid-19 pandemic.
The president noted the traditional interest of national tourists in Cuba during the meeting, at which other issues on the bilateral agenda were addressed.
For her part, the Cuban diplomat explained the economic situation in her country since the tightening of the United States blockade during the pandemic, and praised Finland’s support for Cuba’s denunciation of the White House’s hostile policy.
