SESPAS reported in a press release that the 39-year-old individual is currently isolated and shows stable progress, while being treated by specialists at the Ramón de Lara University Hospital.
Likewise, the Deputy Health Minister Eladio Pérez stated there are no suspicious persons linked to this new case, since patient was presumably infected in border areas.
“We continue with a hard-fought monitoring through the National Epidemiological Surveillance System to detect in time any virus present in the country and thus keep population posted,” Pérez said.
Likewise, Pérez stated they are in direct contact with the World Health Organization (WHO) to monkeypox vaccine acquisition process.
