On its Twitter social network account, the President reported on the dialogue held with inhabitants of the Dubrocq and La Ganadera neighborhoods, close to the facility that suffered the impact of lightning on one of the fuel tanks last Friday, and the fire spread to three other warehouses.
“Thank you President, we trust you, the Revolution, Fidel is here,” were expressions of gratitude heard in the exchange, according to a message published on the digital platform.
The president also held a meeting with experts from Mexico and Venezuela, who accompany from his experience and with material support the work of extinguishing the fire at the supertanker base.
During this day, in the same way, the head of state checked the work at the Antonio Guiteras thermoelectric plant (one kilometer from the scene of the incident), and where work is being done to guarantee the water supply that the plant requires to function.
Cuban authorities reported today that the incident has already been controlled, but they insisted on avoiding excessive confidence and the need to continue the work to cool the spilled fuel.
