President Bashar al-Assad addressed soldiers to highlight their bravery and sacrifice on the battlefields and called on them to preserve discipline and fulfill their assigned tasks.
The armed forces have been an example with their nobility and commitment, and have proved that they know nothing but victory and glory, Al-Assad said in a speech published by the “People’s Army” magazine.
In turn, the residents of the Israeli-occupied Syrian Golan said in a communiqué that the army heroically fought against terrorism and its sponsors, and it is the hope in the battle to liberate the territory from the Israeli occupying forces.
Defense Minister, Lieutenant General Ali Abbas, said in a television message that the army showed since its foundation in August 1945 a great courage and professionalism in defending its land against the plans of domination and colonialism.
Syria founded its national army on August 1, 1945, and it was trained and formed to defend the borders and confront Israel.
