Crispiniano dos Santos, national secretary of the youth organization JMPLA, reported that the event will meet at the Futungo II Complex, and its opening will be attended by the president of the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA), João Lourenço.
The meeting will help disseminate the guidelines of the government program proposed by the MPLA for the period 2022-2027 and the party’s electoral manifesto for the upcoming general elections on August 24th.
Presentations on the subject will include an assessment of socioeconomic development in the Luanda province, Dos Santos told the Jornal de Angola newspaper.
According to the official, the young people, numbering over a thousand, will call on the Executive to promote key issues such as higher education and employment: the attendees “will become true agents of change and drivers of development,” Lourenço opined.
Organized by the JMPLA, the event is an annual meeting aimed at promoting volunteering and solidarity, civic and patriotic education and encouraging the exchange of experiences between university students from all provinces and scholarship holders abroad.
The event is held on a regular basis and involves students in socially useful tasks, including construction projects for social, economic and environmental infrastructures, Lourenço said.
