Footage released by the Ministry of Defense showed they used tactical and ballistic missiles, fighter-bombers, attack helicopters, artillery, rocket launchers and other devices, included modern anti-aircraft defense systems.
The drills, led by General Suheil al-Hassan, commander of the 25th special troops division, were attended by Chief of General Staff Abdul Karim Ibrahim, Commander of Russian forces operating in Syria Alexander Chaiko, and high-ranking Russian and Syrian officers.
The military formations participating in the maneuvers passed through water barriers and reached the opposite shore under intense ground and air fire coverage.
After assessing the results of the maneuvers, the Chief of General Staff affirmed the determination to further enhance the capabilities of the armed forces and continue the battle until every inch of the Syrian territory is liberated from terrorism and occupation.
According to analysts, these exercises carry messages to Syria’s enemies, particularly the United States and Israel, which Damascus accuses of violating its sovereignty.
