In a communiqué issued on Sunday, the organization referred that the activity held on Saturday, July 23, was object of an attack, “conducted by a fascist political group called the European Ibero-American Alliance against Communism.”
It indicated that the group is mainly formed by “stateless persons born in Cuba and it is supported by VOX, Citizens and People’s Party (of Spain).”
According to the source, the actions were preceded by graffiti in the square where the demonstration was being held, and began “with provocations, insults, many of them directed against a transgender artist, marked with hate,” and continued with damages to the decoration of the premise and physical aggression on the participants in the event.
Summarizing what happened, the Communist Party of the Catalan People remarked “the impunity with which this small fascist group acts and attacks whoever it considers an enemy (communists, people in solidarity with Cuba and its Revolution, committed artists).”
The organization reiterated its sympathies and support with the movement of solidarity with Cuba, and with the Casal Tres Voltes Rebel, which hosted the party.
