On his Twitter account, the Cuban head of State referred to the meeting held on Friday in the Cuban capital with the Dominican party leader, to whom he ratified the will to continue strengthening bilateral relations.
During the meeting, they discussed the importance of working together to build unity within diversity in order to consolidate Latin American and Caribbean integration, according to a press release from the Presidency.
Diaz-Canel, who is also the first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) acknowledged the work done by the United Left Movement Party in promoting Cuba’s reality in the world.
He also highlighted the solidarity with the Cuban people, especially during the confrontation with the Covid-19 pandemic.
The United Left Movement Party maintains a position of support for Cuba and solidarity in the fight against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States Government.
