The FSB said in a statement that three Ukrainian citizens with extensive conviction histories and belonging to “a sabotage and reconnaissance group created by Pravyi Sektor under the auspices of the Ukrainian Security Service were arrested in the town of Goritsi.”
The investigation revealed that the detainees are two women, born in 1986 and 1978, respectively, and a man, born in 1988 and repeatedly convicted of pedophilia.
According to data provided by the FSB to Sputnik news agency, the detainees arrived in Russia and were planning to detonate a high-powered improvised explosive device in one of the Lipetsk transport infrastructure facilities.
They also detailed that during the interrogation one of the detainees confessed that he planned to organize an attack at the Sokol bus terminal.
The statement adds that components for the explosive device were seized, and correspondence of the detainees with other members of Pravyi Sektor was found.
The corresponding judicial bodies opened criminal cases for preparation of a terrorist attack, participation in an extremist organization and illegal possession of explosives.
