Gonzalez, who conveyed greetings from Cuban Communications Minister Mayra Arevich, highlighted the Mincom’s interest in strengthening ties with Japan in order to exchange on identified priorities of great utility for the development of infrastructure and public services in Cuba.
Likewise, he thanked the MIC for the invitation to participate in a recently concluded Training Workshop on Policy Development for High-Level Officials, during which he presented the Cuban Government’s policies, regulations and challenges of information and communication technologies, with emphasis on the process of computerization of society.
For his part, Kaneko recalled several of the work visits he has made to Cuba, the latest of which took place in 2018 on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of Japanese Migration to Cuba.
The member of the Japanese Cabinet also holds the position of deputy secretary general of the Japan-Cuba Parliamentary League.
Also present at the meeting was Cuban Ambassador to Japan Miguel Angel Ramirez.
