Speaking to Al-Jazeera television, Fadi Al-Hadmi, Palestinian Minister for Jerusalem Affairs, condemned the strategy of Jewish colonization in the city at the expense of Arab citizens.
The Minister called on the international community to adopt a firm stance against this policy in the face of this situation.
Israeli authorities repeatedly violate international law by trying to change the status quo in the territory, he said.
The Mufti of Jerusalem, Sheikh Muhammad Hussein, also warned against Israel’s expansionism in the city.
Hussein urged the world to end Tel Aviv’s aggression against the people of Jerusalem.
Activist Fakhri Abu Diab denounced last week that the Israeli occupation authorities issued more than 1,860 demolition orders for Palestinian structures in East Jerusalem since the beginning of the year.
According to various sources, some 490,000 Israeli settlers live throughout the West Bank and another 200,000 in the eastern part of the city.
