According to the daily report from the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), 692 patients are in hospitals or at home nationwide, 210 of whom are suspected cases and 482 are active patients.
Of the new cases, 71 were contacts of confirmed patients, two of them were infected abroad and the source of contagion was not identified in 19 cases.
To date, the number of recovered patients is 1,098,730 (99.2 percent of all cases).
Of all active cases reported nationwide, seven patients are being treated in intensive care units: two are in a critical condition and five who are seriously ill.
So far, Cuba has accumulated 1,107,800 contagions since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country in March 2020, and the death toll remains at 8,529.
Cuba’s lethality rate is 0.77 percent, a figure that is much lower than the world’s 1.11 percent and 1.64 percent in the Americas, according to data provided by MINSAP.
