The exhibition, which reaches China for the first time, is based in the provincial museum in southern Hainan and its opening ceremony was presided over by Cuban Ambassador to China Carlos Miguel Pereira and Haikou deputy mayor Ding Fei.
Ding described it as an opportunity for mutual understanding and friendship between both nations.
Apart from Hainan, the exhibition will be also showed in Guangzhou, Shanghai and Beijing, in order to pay tribute to the 62 years of diplomatic relations that will be celebrated in September.
“La Nasobuqueña Tropical” was previously exhibited at Cuba’s National Museum of Fine Arts in November 2021 comprising 13 medium and large format paintings proposing the re-contextualization of the facemask to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic.
