NGO denounces new Israeli colonial projects in the West Bank

Ramallah, Jul 22 (Prensa Latina) The Israeli authorities approved three new plans to expand colonies in the occupied West Bank via the expropriation of Palestinian land, the Jerusalem Institute of Applied Research reported.

According to a statement from the NGO, about 733 square kilometers will be seized to build 702 housing units.

The first project plans to seize land from the village of Ras Karkar, in the governorate of Ramallah, to expand and build 168 houses in the Israeli colony of Talmon, and the other two also provide for the expropriation of Palestinian areas to expand the Shiloh and Naama settlements

The entity pointed out that this policy represents a total contempt for international norms and conventions, including resolutions of the UN Security Council, from successive Israeli governments.

According to official data, some 490,000 settlers live throughout the West Bank and another 200,000 in East Jerusalem.
