Upon visiting the headquarters of the institution, Leon talked with Ghassan Ben Jeddou, chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Mayadeen News Network, to whom he conveyed his congratulations for the 10th anniversary of the communicational platform in accordance with journalistic principles.
He also highlighted Al Mayadeen’s role in the current scenario, as well as the honesty of its journalists to show the news with responsibility and based on strategic values in defense of the just causes.
During the meeting, Ben Jeddou reiterated the channel’s firmness in favor of reflecting human greatness and heroism of the peoples, as part of the information network of the global south, while he reiterated its friendship towards the Cuban Revolution.
Accompanied by Lebanese journalist Wafica Ibrahim, director of the web in Spanish language, the Cuban diplomat exchanged with journalists, announcers, producers and technical staff during the tour of the departments and offices.
The Al Mayadeen Network, whose headquarters is based in Beirut, went on the air on June 11, 2012 and ever since, its correspondents report from Moscow, Washington, London, Tehran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Europe and all Arab countries.
