“Army General Sergey Shoigu instructed to further intensify work to destroy enemy unmanned drones over areas bordering Russia, as well as to strictly suppress the nationalists’ shelling of liberated localities,” the Ministry of Defense reported.
The note published on the Ministry of Defense’ website states that on Wednesday, Shoigu was briefed by Andrei Sichevoyei, commander of the Western group, on the development of the special military operation in Ukraine.
This is the third visit by the Russian Army general to the areas where the Russian troops participating in the operation to free the Donbass region from the Ukrainian military presence are stationed.
In the previous exchanges with the troops, according to the Defense Ministry reports, the minister paid special attention to the organization of the comprehensive support to the hostilities and the creation of all necessary living conditions for the Russian military personnel at the temporary deployment points.
Russia launched an armed operation in Ukraine on February 24, after the authorities of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics requested help to repel the increase in aggression and the heavy air strikes from Kiev.
