“I wish to express my deepest condolences to the family, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), the Government and the National Assembly of People’s Power,” reads the letter sent by Yasuo Ogata, JCP Vice President and Chairperson of the International Commission.
The text of condolences recalls the meetings between Ogata and the late Cuban leader, both in Japan and during the funeral of former President Fidel Castro in Havana.
“As head of the International Relations Department of the PCC’s Central Committee and in other important party and government positions, comrade Balaguer contributed to the Cuban Revolution and the construction of his country,” the message stressed.
“May comrade Balaguer rest in peace,” the JCP letter concluded.
