“Noting an increase in the group’s attack capabilities, the minister instructed its commander to prioritize the destruction of enemy long-range missile and artillery systems used to bomb residential neighborhoods in Donbass” by Ukrainian forces, the Ministry of Defense reported on its website.
Shoigu stressed that the measure also aims to protect the wheat fields and grain deposits in the region, which are deliberately set on fire by Ukrainian troops.
The General issued the corresponding orders during his visit of a command post of the East Group of the Russian Armed Forces on Monday, two days after a similar inspection of the South and Center groups.
During the visit on July 16th, the head of the Ministry instructed the commanders of the operation to step up actions in order to prevent the Ukrainian troops from launching massive missile attacks on the cities of Donbass and other regions.
