In a message of condolences, the members of the solidarity group indicate that “Cuban revolutionary comrade Jose Ramon Balaguer Cabrera has retired to the stars. Our fraternal feelings to the Communist Party of Cuba, his family, friends and the Cuban people, in this moment of sensitive emotions.”
They assure that Balaguer will live on in the resistance and victories of the Cuban people and the political project of the Revolution.
His example as an anti-imperialist fighter and for the emancipation of the peoples motivates us to continue fighting, as the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, and that victorious generation of the centenary did, the CBYLO members emphasize.
Upon expressing their solidarity and unconditional support for the Cuban people, they conclude “down with the criminal blockade and the imperialist war against Cuba. Cuba lives, imperialism dies. With Cuba yesterday, with Cuba today, with Cuba always.”
Media in Havana reported that Balaguer, a communist leader and Rebel Army fighter, died on Thursday at the age of 90.
