According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Minister Wang Yi raised this topic during a telephone conversation with his Hungarian counterpart, Peter Szijjarto.
The Chinese minister underscored the serious impact of the conflict both in Europe and around the world, mentioned the concern of the Group of 20 with the situation and insisted on taking measures to address its effect on food and energy security.
Wang assured that China is not sitting idly by in the face of the conflict, nor will it intensify it, and will consistently and firmly promote dialogue and peace talks.
Regarding the bilateral ties, Wang Yi assured that Beijing values the trust, friendship and support of Hungary in the defense of its legitimate rights and interests.
He ratified the will to work together so that relations become a model of links characterized by a greater degree of maturity and mutual trust.
He also expressed hope that Hungary will push the European Union to adopt positive and practical policies towards China, saying that China will encourage its companies to invest and do business with Hungary.
