Until July 25, the meeting articulates the work done by activist, feminist and anti-racist groups, academics from different scientific disciplines, representatives at several levels of the National Program for the Advancement of Women and institutions, according to the program of the event.
In that sense, the University of Havana, research centers, actors of the National Program against Racism and Racial Discrimination, the Cuban Women’s Federation, the Ministry of Culture, the Institute of Information and Social Communication and the Platform for Participation and Equity take part in the event.
The meeting takes place in the framework of the commemoration of International Day of Afro-Latin, Afro-Caribbean and Diaspora Women, which is held every July 25 since 1992, to make their work visible and promote policies that help improve their quality of life, eradicate racism and discrimination, and promote the personal and social development.
According to the document, the event is consistent with the actions developed in Cuba in recent years, where groups of activists carry out activities related to the date, although greater integration is needed in order to achieve the impact that the date deserves.
